Intel Core i3-N300 vs Intel Core i3-1315U

The Intel Core i3-N300 is based on the Alder Lake N architecture and was developed for extremely energy-efficient systems.

With eight pure efficiency cores, this processor manufactured in the 10 nm process offers sufficient performance for simple office tasks and media consumption. However, benchmarks show that the single-core performance is limited in comparison. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 13th Gen with 32 execution units quickly reaches its limits with demanding graphical tasks, which is also due to the low memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s.

Since the focus is on minimal power consumption, this chip is excellently suited for silent Mini-PCs. The L3 cache of 6 MB and the L2 cache of 8 MB support efficiency in background processes, while the acquisition costs for corresponding systems are usually very low. In comparison, the Intel Core i3-1315U is a representative of the Raptor Lake U series, which was designed for more versatile application scenarios.

Through the combination of two performance cores and four efficiency cores, it achieves significantly higher single-core performance than the Intel Core i3-N300. This processor is also significantly ahead in multi-core applications. The Intel Iris Xe Graphics 64 benefits from a high memory bandwidth of 83 GB/s, which enables better graphical representation in comparison, even though both CPUs are not designed for modern gaming.

With a larger L3 cache of 10 MB, the Intel Core i3-1315U handles complex workloads more efficiently. It consumes more energy, but offers significantly more future-proof performance for everyday tasks in notebooks or compact desktop computers.
