Intel Celeron N4100 vs Intel Celeron N4500

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron N4100 and the Intel Celeron N4500 are entry-level processors primarily used in inexpensive laptops and compact systems.

While the Intel Celeron N4100 is based on the Gemini Lake architecture and manufactured using the 14-nanometer process, the Intel Celeron N4500 uses the Jasper Lake architecture in the more efficient 10-nanometer process. A key difference lies in the configuration: the Intel Celeron N4100 has four computing cores, whereas the Intel Celeron N4500 only has two cores.

The Intel Celeron N4100 also offers no Level 2 cache but uses a Level 3 cache of 4 megabytes. In benchmarks, the Intel Celeron N4100 shows clear advantages in multi-core performance due to its higher core count. Single-core performance varies depending on the test environment, with the Intel Celeron N4500 scoring points in some applications thanks to its refined architecture.

Both processors use integrated graphics units such as the Intel UHD Graphics 600 or the Intel UHD Graphics 16 EUs, which are unsuitable for demanding games. However, the Intel Celeron N4500 benefits from a higher memory bandwidth of 47 GB/s compared to the 38 GB/s of its counterpart.

The thermal design power of both models is kept very low, which favors silent operation in passively cooled cases. Pricewise, both solutions are located in the lower segment and offer a solid price-performance ratio for simple tasks. For users who value multitasking, the Intel Celeron N4100 is the more suitable choice.

The Intel Celeron N4500, on the other hand, impresses with its efficiency in mobile devices focusing on long battery life.
