Intel Celeron N3450 vs Intel Processor N100

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron N3450, based on the Braswell architecture, was manufactured using the 14 nm process.

It is designed for energy-efficient entry-level systems such as mini-PCs or inexpensive laptops and features 4 cores and 4 threads. Its Level 3 cache is 2 MB. The integrated graphics unit is the Intel HD Graphics 500 with a maximum memory bandwidth of 30 GB/s. The Intel Processor N100 uses the more modern Alder Lake N architecture and is manufactured using the more advanced 10 nm process.

It also targets compact, power-saving devices and offers 4 cores and 4 threads. Its cache sizes are 4 MB Level 2 and 6 MB Level 3. The integrated graphics unit is the Intel UHD Graphics (24 EUs, Alder Lake) with a maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s. In terms of computing performance, the Intel Processor N100 shows significant advantages.

It delivers significantly higher performance in single-core and multi-core operation than the Intel Celeron N3450, favored by its newer architecture and larger cache. In the gaming sector, neither CPU is intended for demanding titles. However, the integrated Intel UHD Graphics of the Intel Processor N100 offers significantly improved graphics performance compared to the Intel HD Graphics 500 of the Intel Celeron N3450.

A higher maximum memory bandwidth additionally supports this. Both processors are designed for low power consumption and low TDP, ideal for fanless systems. Despite its superior performance, the Intel Processor N100 offers a better price-performance ratio. In summary, thanks to its modern architecture, the Intel Processor N100 delivers clearly higher computing and graphics performance.

The Intel Celeron N3450 is a very cost-effective option for absolutely basic tasks. For most use cases that go beyond pure word processing and very simple web usage, the Intel Processor N100 is the superior choice.
