Intel Celeron J4105 vs Intel Processor N100

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron J4105, based on the Gemini Lake architecture, is manufactured using the 14 nm process and features 4 cores and 4 threads.

It has 4 MB of Level 3 Cache and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 600. Designed for energy-efficient, basic desktop and embedded systems, it offers PCIe 2.0 and a maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s. The Intel Processor N100, on the other hand, uses the more advanced Alder Lake N architecture and is manufactured using the more efficient 10 nm process.

It also has 4 cores and 4 threads (Gracemont cores), but is better equipped with 4 MB of Level 2 Cache and 6 MB of Level 3 Cache. The integrated graphics unit is an Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake). This processor offers PCIe 3.0 and also 38 GB/s maximum memory bandwidth. In terms of computing performance, the Intel Processor N100 significantly outperforms the Intel Celeron J4105 in single-core and multi-core applications, with a performance increase of well over 10 percent due to its more modern architecture.

Neither is suitable for demanding gaming, but the Intel Processor N100 offers a slight advantage in very light games due to its newer graphics unit. The Intel Processor N100 is also more energy-efficient due to its 10 nm manufacturing process and offers a superior price-performance ratio.

For new purchases, the Intel Processor N100 is the clearly better choice for everyday tasks, while the Intel Celeron J4105 is only relevant for extremely simple, cost-effective legacy systems.
