The Intel Celeron G1610 is generally relevant as a very affordable component for simple systems where cost savings are prioritized over computing power. The Intel Core i3-3220 is a processor of the Ivy Bridge S generation developed for use in standard desktop PCs.

Like the Celeron model, it is manufactured in 22 nm but offers a total of four threads with two physical cores through Hyper-Threading. This leads to significantly higher performance in single-core and multi-core scenarios, supported by a 3 megabyte L3 cache and 26 GB/s memory bandwidth as well as PCIe 2.0.

The integrated Intel HD Graphics 2500 enables more stable image output but is hardly sufficient for gaming beyond very old titles. With a TDP of 55 watts, the thermal load remains moderate. The Intel Core i3-3220 is the better choice for users who need smooth operation in everyday life and multitasking, as the price-performance ratio is more advantageous despite the higher price.
