The
Intel Atom D2500 was a processor primarily designed for efficiency. It's based on the
Cedarview architecture and manufactured using 32nm technology. This manufacturing process allowed for particularly low power consumption. At the same time, it ensured significantly reduced heat generation.
This made it the ideal choice for numerous applications where
compact design and low power consumption were paramount. It was frequently found in netbooks, smaller embedded systems, or thin clients.
Another significant advantage of this processor was the integrated graphics solution, the
Intel GMA 3600.
It provided the necessary image output for everyday tasks. A separate graphics card was not required. The
Intel Atom D2500 proved its strength especially where exorbitant computing power was not required. Instead, it scored with reliable and energy-efficient operation. Its ability to get by with passive cooling opened up new possibilities for fanless devices.
It offered a well-thought-out solution for special applications. It always fulfilled these reliably.
