Apple M4 vs MediaTek Dimensity 9300+

Last updated:
The Apple M4 was introduced in May 2024 and primarily targets users of tablets and compact computers.

This chip is manufactured using a modern 3 nm process, which enables high transistor density. It features integrated Apple M4 (10 Core) graphics and a Level 2 cache of 20 megabytes. In synthetic tests, the Apple M4 shows significantly higher performance in single-core and multi-core areas than its competitor from MediaTek.

The memory bandwidth of 120 gigabytes per second supports demanding applications. In gaming scenarios, the chip benefits from its optimized architecture and hardware ray tracing. Energy efficiency is high due to the manufacturing process, which minimizes heat generation. Apple M4 is suitable for creative work and productive applications in a closed ecosystem.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ is a chip for mobile devices released in May 2024.

It is based on the Cortex-X4 and Cortex-A720 architecture and is produced using a 4 nm process. The processor uses an 18 megabyte Level 3 cache and the ARM Immortalis-G720 MC12 graphics unit. In terms of computing power, the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ lags noticeably behind the Apple M4 in benchmarks, with the difference being more than ten percent.

The maximum memory bandwidth is specified at 77 gigabytes per second. For games, the Immortalis unit offers modern features but does not reach the raw performance of its competitor. The focus is on a balanced ratio between cost and performance for third-party providers. This chip is an option for users looking for high system speed in Android-based devices at an often lower price.
