AMD Precision Boost

AMD Precision Boost or AMD Precision Boost 2 can slightly increase the clock frequency of the processor in certain situations to increase performance.

Unlike Precision Boost Overdrive, Precision Boost adheres to fixed conditions for activation. The clock frequency is increased based on the processor temperature, power consumption and the type of load as well as the number of CPU cores used.

This function is similar to Intel Turbo Boost, which increases the clock frequency of a processor according to very identical criteria.
