The Intel Core M-5Y31 processor was a remarkable development for mobile devices at the time. It is based on the Broadwell Y architecture. This chip was manufactured using the then advanced 14 nm process. This allowed for the realization of particularly thin and fanless device designs. Energy efficiency was clearly a priority with this processor.

This was extremely advantageous for mobile applications. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 5300 performed basic tasks well. We see that it is still sufficient for everyday applications. It supports the smooth playback of media content without problems. With 4 MB Level 3 Cache, the processor is well equipped for its segment.

The maximum memory bandwidth is 26 GB/s. This was absolutely sufficient for the requirements of the time. This chip enabled the spread of very light and compact notebooks. It delivered reliable performance for web browsing and office applications. This made it a good choice for slim, portable computers.
