The Intel Celeron N2940, a processor from the Bay Trail family, was manufactured using an energy-efficient 22nm process. Its design was aimed at cost-effective and particularly economical devices. We found that it was ideal for use in compact laptops, netbooks or even thin clients. The integrated Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail GT1) allowed a smooth display of media content.

It offered sufficient computing power for everyday applications and light surfing. One of the greatest strengths of this processor was its low power consumption. This meant that it could often be cooled passively, i.e. without a fan. This led to very quiet or even completely silent systems. This was a remarkable advantage, especially for office environments or bedrooms.

With 2 MB Level-3 cache and a memory bandwidth of 21 GB/s, the Intel Celeron N2940 is still a practical choice for very basic tasks today. It shows how efficient earlier architectures could already be.
