The
Intel Atom x5-Z8330 processor, based on the
Cherry Trail architecture, was manufactured using the energy-efficient 14 nm process at Intel. It was specifically developed for use in compact devices such as tablets and smaller laptops. One of its greatest strengths to this day is its extremely low power consumption.
This enabled a long battery life in mobile applications. Also, its ability to be operated fanless was a major advantage for slim designs. With the integrated Intel HD Graphics 400, it was able to handle basic visual tasks. The playback of media was also effortlessly possible. The maximum memory bandwidth of 13 GB/s was appropriately dimensioned for the requirements at the time.
This processor offers 2 MB Level 2 Cache, which contributes to its efficiency. It is a good example of how Intel met the needs for economical and integrated systems. Many users appreciated its reliability for everyday tasks. We were surprised how well it was able to assert itself in this specific niche.
