The
AMD E1-2500, based on the
Kabini architecture, was a processor for budget-conscious users. It featured an integrated AMD Radeon HD 8240 graphics unit. This eliminated the need for separate graphics cards for everyday tasks. With its 28nm manufacturing process, it was also designed for energy efficiency.
This often made it a good choice for compact systems or notebooks. Such processors offered an affordable way to perform basic computer tasks. The
performance was sufficient for simple office applications, browsing the Internet, or playing media content. Everyday tasks could be handled reliably.
We were surprised how well it can still serve for very light purposes. The integrated 1 MB L3 cache supported basic data processing. The maximum memory bandwidth of 11 GB/s was adequate for its class. Its strengths clearly lay in the combination of graphics capability, energy efficiency, and an attractive price.
