Intel Xeon E3-1230 v3 vs Intel Processor N100

An integrated graphics unit is not present. The Intel Processor N100, a member of the Alder Lake N family, was released in 2023 and targets energy-efficient desktop systems and mini-PCs.

It is manufactured using the 10 nm process, has 4 cores and 4 threads. With 4 MB of Level 2 and 6 MB of Level 3 cache, it achieves 38 GB/s memory bandwidth. An integrated Intel UHD Graphics with 24 Execution Units is present. In single-core performance, both processors are comparable in newer benchmarks, with the Intel Processor N100 being slightly superior here.

In multi-core performance, the Intel Xeon E3-1230 v3 shows significantly higher computing power. Neither is optimized for gaming; the N100 offers a basic graphics solution, while the Xeon requires a dedicated graphics card. The Intel Processor N100 is characterized by significantly lower power consumption, due to its modern manufacturing process.

The Intel Xeon E3-1230 v3 has a significantly higher thermal design power. In terms of price, the older Xeon is very inexpensive on the used market, while the N100 offers a good overall package as part of new systems.
