Intel Pentium Silver N6005 vs Intel Processor N150

Last updated:
The Intel Pentium Silver N6005, introduced in the first quarter of 2021, and the Intel Processor N150, launched in the first quarter of 2023, are both Intel CPUs designed for the entry-level segment, aiming for energy-efficient, basic computing tasks in mini-PCs or budget laptops.

The Intel Pentium Silver N6005 is based on the Jasper Lake architecture and is manufactured using the 10 nm process. It features 4 cores, 4 threads, 2 MB L2 and 4 MB L3 cache. Its integrated graphics solution is the Intel UHD Graphics 32 EUs (Jasper Lake) with a memory bandwidth of 47 GB/s.

The Intel Processor N150, on the other hand, utilizes the manufacturer-specified Twin Lake architecture in the more advanced 7 nm process. It offers a more modern configuration of 5 cores and 6 threads, consisting of one performance core and four efficiency cores, supported by 4 MB L2 and 6 MB L3 cache.

Its integrated graphics unit is the Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) with 38 GB/s memory bandwidth. In terms of performance, the Intel Processor N150 shows significantly higher single-core performance and also substantially improved multi-core performance compared to the Intel Pentium Silver N6005, leading to a smoother and more responsive user experience.

Neither processor is optimized for gaming and is suitable at most for very simple or older titles, although the N6005 with more EUs and higher memory bandwidth might have slight advantages in graphics-intensive entry-level tasks. Both are designed for extremely low power consumption, ideal for fanless designs and long battery life.

Due to its superior computing power, the Intel Processor N150 offers better value for money for modern entry-level devices. The Intel Pentium Silver N6005 is a cost-effective choice for very basic tasks, while the Intel Processor N150 is recommended for a better user experience with similar energy efficiency.
