Intel Pentium Silver J5005 vs Intel Processor N95

Last updated:
The Intel Pentium Silver J5005, based on the Gemini Lake architecture, was manufactured using the 14nm process and is aimed at the market for very energy-efficient entry-level systems and mini-PCs.

It features four cores and four threads and integrates Intel UHD Graphics 605. Its computing performance, measured in single-core and multi-core performance, is sufficient for basic tasks such as web browsing and light productivity. The maximum memory bandwidth is 38 GB/s, and it supports PCIe 2.0. The Intel Processor N95, with the newer Alder Lake N architecture, is manufactured using the more advanced 10nm process.

It targets compact, energy-efficient PCs and also offers four cores and four threads. The integrated graphics unit is the Intel UHD Graphics 16 EUs (Alder Lake). This processor delivers significantly higher single-core and multi-core performance than the J5005, resulting in better system responsiveness and efficiency.

It supports PCIe 3.0 and also achieves a maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s. Neither processor is designed for demanding gaming scenarios; their integrated graphics solutions are primarily suitable for media playback and very simple games. However, the Intel Processor N95 offers an advantage here due to its newer architecture and graphics unit.

In terms of power consumption, both benefit from a very low TDP, with the N95 showing superior energy efficiency due to its 10nm process. The newer Intel Processor N95 is the better choice for current systems, as it offers significantly more performance for a better user experience with comparable efficiency.
