Intel Pentium N4200 vs Intel Processor N95

Last updated:
The Intel Pentium N4200 (Apollo Lake) was designed for energy-efficient entry-level devices. The Intel Processor N95 (Alder Lake N) is a modern successor for similar segments like mini-PCs, offering noticeably improved performance.

The Intel Pentium N4200 uses 14 nm, 4 cores/4 threads, 2 MB L3 Cache, and Intel HD Graphics 505 (30 GB/s memory). The Intel Processor N95 (10 nm) offers 4 cores/4 threads, but 4 MB L2 and 6 MB L3 Cache, as well as Intel UHD Graphics 16 EUs (Alder Lake) with 38 GB/s memory bandwidth.

The Intel Processor N95 significantly outperforms the Intel Pentium N4200 in single- and multi-core performance, thanks to its newer architecture. Both are unsuitable for demanding gaming. However, the N95's integrated Intel UHD Graphics offers improved, basic graphics performance for simple games.

Both are energy-efficient. The 10 nm Intel Processor N95 is more efficient per unit of performance than the 14 nm Intel Pentium N4200. The older N4200 is a budget option for legacy systems. The N95 offers a significantly better price-performance ratio in the current market. The Intel Pentium N4200 is suitable for basic tasks and cost-efficiency in legacy systems.

The Intel Processor N95 delivers significantly higher computing and graphics performance with improved energy efficiency. For new investments, the Intel Processor N95 is the preferred choice.
