Intel Pentium J3710 vs Intel Processor N95

Last updated:
The Intel Pentium J3710, based on the Braswell architecture and manufactured in a 14nm process, is an older processor designed in 2016 for energy-efficient entry-level systems such as thin clients or simple NAS devices.

It features four cores and four threads, a 2 MB L3 cache, and Intel HD Graphics 405 (18EU). Its maximum memory bandwidth is 26 GB/s, with PCIe version 2.0. In terms of computing power, the Intel Pentium J3710 delivers basic performance sufficient for very simple tasks, but significantly less than that of the N95.

It is not suitable for gaming due to its architecture and older graphics unit. It is characterized by very low power consumption and a low TDP, ideal for fanless designs and systems where maximum cost efficiency and absolute basic functionality are paramount. The Intel Processor N95, with its modern Alder Lake N architecture and manufactured in a more efficient 10nm process, is intended for compact and energy-efficient desktop systems.

It offers four cores and four threads, 4 MB L2 cache, 6 MB L3 cache, and Intel UHD Graphics 16 EUs (Alder Lake). Its maximum memory bandwidth is 38 GB/s, with PCIe version 3.0. In single-core and multi-core benchmarks, the Intel Processor N95 shows significantly higher performance than the J3710, making it better suited for everyday office work, web browsing, and media playback.

Although it is not designed for demanding gaming, its newer graphics unit offers improved performance for very simple games. It maintains low power consumption but delivers significantly higher performance per watt and is the recommended choice for modern mini-PCs with good performance for general tasks.
