The Intel Pentium G2030 and the Intel Core i5-3570 are desktop processors from the Ivy Bridge S generation, manufactured using the 22 nm process.

While the Pentium was designed as a cost-effective solution for basic systems, the Core i5 is aimed at users with higher requirements. The Intel Pentium G2030 has two cores and two threads, whereas the Intel Core i5-3570 is equipped with four cores and four threads.

Additionally, the Core i5 offers a higher maximum memory bandwidth of 26 GB/s and PCIe 3.0, while the Pentium is limited to 21 GB/s and PCIe 2.0. Neither model has Level 2 cache, but the Level 3 cache of the Core i5 is twice as large at 6 MB. In synthetic benchmarks, the Intel Core i5-3570 clearly outperforms the Pentium in both single-core and multi-core performance.

This is particularly noticeable in games, where the Core i5 enables a more stable frame rate due to its four cores. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 2500 of the Core i5 is also superior to the Intel HD Graphics (Ivy Bridge GT1) of the Pentium. Despite the higher thermal design power of the Core i5, it offers better efficiency for compute-intensive tasks.

The Intel Pentium G2030 is an option for simple office computers, but for multimedia applications and gaming, the Intel Core i5-3570 is the significantly more recommended choice due to its architecture and better connectivity.
