In performance tests, the Intel Core i5-7500 shows significantly higher single-core performance and also considerably surpasses the Intel Core i7-3770 in multi-core performance.

This is primarily attributable to the newer architecture and higher per-clock performance, which also makes it a better choice for gaming scenarios. Additionally, the Intel Core i5-7500 has a lower TDP of 65W compared to the 77W of the Intel Core i7-3770, indicating better energy efficiency.
