Intel Core i7-12700 vs Intel Core i9-10910

Last updated:
The Intel Core i7-12700 is based on the Alder Lake S architecture and is aimed at gamers and professionals.

Manufactured in a 10 nm process, it uses a hybrid design with 12 cores and 20 threads. Support for PCIe 5.0 and a memory bandwidth of 77 GB/s ensure high speed. In benchmarks, it significantly outperforms the single-core and multi-core performance of the comparison model, making it superior in games and applications.

With 12 MB L2 and 25 MB L3 cache as well as Intel UHD Graphics 770, it offers modern technology. Despite moderate thermal design power, energy efficiency is high. In terms of price, it offers a better ratio as it supports more current standards, making it a future-proof choice for modern desktop systems.

The Intel Core i9-10910 comes from the Comet Lake S series and was developed for specific desktop workstations.

It is manufactured in a 14 nm process with 10 cores and 20 threads. Technically, it is limited to PCIe 3.0 and a memory bandwidth of 47 GB/s. With 20 MB Level 3 cache and no Level 2 cache, it lags behind the Intel Core i7-12700 in single-core and multi-core performance, which is particularly noticeable in current games.

Intel UHD Graphics 630 handles graphical tasks. Due to the older architecture, power consumption is higher in relation to computing power. It is primarily relevant for users of specific older hardware platforms but offers a weaker price-performance ratio than more modern processors.
