The Intel Processor N100, belonging to the Alder Lake N architecture, was launched in early 2023 and targets energy-efficient entry-level and mini-PCs.

Manufactured using a more modern 10 nm process, it has 4 efficiency cores and 4 threads. It also supports PCIe 3.0, offers a maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s, a 6 MB Level 3 Cache, and a 4 MB Level 2 Cache. The integrated graphics unit is the Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake). In performance, the Intel Processor N100 is more than 10 percent behind the Intel Core i5-7600 in both single-core and multi-core performance (Geekbench 6).

It is only very limitedly suitable for gaming. Its very low TDP value ensures minimal power consumption and often enables passively cooled systems. In summary, the Intel Core i5-7600 offers higher raw performance, especially in single-core tasks, and is better suited for more demanding applications and gaming, provided a discrete graphics card is available or older titles are played.

It is an option for budget systems on the used market if platform compatibility is given. The Intel Processor N100 shines with its modern architecture and extremely high energy efficiency. It is the ideal choice for fanless systems, mini-PCs, and applications where low power consumption and basic computing tasks are paramount, such as office work, web browsing, or media playback.
