The Intel Core i5-4590T, based on the Haswell S architecture, was introduced in the second quarter of 2014.

It was aimed at the mainstream desktop market with a focus on energy efficiency. Manufactured using a 22 nm process, this processor features 4 cores and 4 threads, as well as 6 MB of Level 3 cache. Compared to the Intel Processor N150, the Intel Core i5-4590T shows lower single-core performance and, in some multi-core tests, reduced performance.

Its integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600 and a maximum memory bandwidth of 26 GB/s offer only basic capabilities for older or very undemanding games. The PCIe 3.0 interface is standard for its generation. With a TDP of 35W, it was designed for low power consumption for its time as a T-model. It is currently available mainly as a used part, which keeps its acquisition costs low.

The Intel Processor N150, based on the Twin Lake architecture, was launched in the first quarter of 2023. It targets the entry-level segment and energy-efficient mini-PCs. This processor is manufactured using a modern 7 nm process and offers 8 cores and 8 threads. It features 4 MB of Level 2 cache and 6 MB of Level 3 cache.

It significantly outperforms the Intel Core i5-4590T in single-core performance and shows noticeably higher multi-core performance in certain applications. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) and a maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s enable better performance in light games and video playback compared to the older model.

It also uses PCIe 3.0. With a very low TDP of 6W, the Intel Processor N150 is extremely energy-efficient, ideal for fanless or passively cooled systems. It is primarily found in complete systems or embedded solutions, offering good performance for the price with low power consumption.
