Intel Core i3-9100T vs Intel Processor N100

Last updated:
The Intel Core i3-9100T, based on the Coffee Lake S Refresh architecture and manufactured using the 14 nm process, is designed for energy-efficient desktop systems.

It features 4 cores and 4 threads, as well as the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630. With 6 MB of Level 3 Cache, a maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s, and PCIe 3.0, it aims for solid everyday performance. The Intel Processor N100 utilizes the more modern Alder Lake N architecture, manufactured using the 10 nm process, and is intended for extremely power-saving, often fanless systems such as mini PCs.

This processor also offers 4 cores and 4 threads optimized for efficiency. The integrated graphics solution is the Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake). It has 4 MB of Level 2 and 6 MB of Level 3 Cache, 38 GB/s maximum memory bandwidth, and supports PCIe 3.0. In a performance comparison, the Intel Core i3-9100T shows comparable performance in single-core applications; in multi-core applications, the performance is noticeably higher.

For gaming, both are only conditionally suitable, although the newer Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) of the Intel Processor N100 may be marginally better. A significant difference is power consumption: the Intel Core i3-9100T, as a T-variant, is designed for low TDP (typically 35W), while the Intel Processor N100 is optimized for extremely low power consumption (a few watts), which enables fanless designs.

The Intel Core i3-9100T is an older model, mostly available used; the Intel Processor N100 is a current chip for entry-level systems.
