Intel Celeron N4500 vs Intel Processor N50

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron N4500 is based on the Jasper Lake architecture and was developed for affordable mobile devices.

It is produced using the 10-nanometer process and has two cores and two threads. In benchmarks, the computing unit shows solid basic performance for simple office applications, with single-core and multi-core values being sufficient for basic tasks. Graphics processing is handled by the Intel UHD Graphics 16 EUs (Jasper Lake), which is sufficient for simple media content but unsuitable for gaming.

With a TDP of 6 watts, the processor works very economically and enables compact designs without active cooling. The L3 cache comprises 4 MB, while the memory bandwidth is 47 GB/s. This CPU represents a cost-effective solution for minimal budgets if only internet applications and word processing are to be used without high demands on speed.

The Intel Processor N50 uses the newer Alder Lake N architecture and is intended for modern entry-level devices.

This chip is also manufactured using the 10-nanometer process with two cores. In a direct comparison, it delivers significantly higher single-core and multi-core performance than the Jasper Lake model, which increases efficiency in everyday life. In gaming scenarios, it performs slightly better due to the more modern graphics architecture of the Intel UHD Graphics 13th Gen (16 EU) and the higher per-core performance, but remains limited to undemanding titles.

Despite the lower memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s, the system benefits from the larger L3 cache of 6 MB. The TDP remains identically low at 6 watts, which guarantees high energy efficiency. For everyday applications, this model offers the better ratio of cost to computing power, which is why it should be the preferred choice in this segment.
