Intel Celeron N4500 vs Intel Processor N100

The Intel Celeron N4500 and Intel Processor N100 are energy-efficient processors for entry-level laptops, mini-PCs, and embedded systems, designed for basic everyday tasks.

The Intel Celeron N4500 is based on the Jasper Lake architecture and is manufactured using the 10 nm process, with 2 MB L2 and 4 MB L3 cache, as well as Intel UHD Graphics 16 EUs (Jasper Lake). Its maximum memory bandwidth is 47 GB/s. The Intel Processor N100 uses the more modern Alder Lake N architecture, also manufactured in 10 nm.

It offers 4 MB L2 and 6 MB L3 cache, Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake), and a memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s. The computing performance of the Intel Processor N100 significantly surpasses that of the Intel Celeron N4500 in both single-core and multi-core tasks, resulting in noticeably more responsive system performance.

In terms of graphics performance, the Intel Processor N100 also has a clear advantage thanks to its more modern and powerful integrated graphics unit, which positively impacts media display and simpler games. Both processors are characterized by very low power consumption and a low TDP, making them ideal for fanless or passively cooled systems.

However, the Intel Processor N100 offers better value for money, as its significantly higher performance justifies the usually only slightly higher costs. For basic applications and maximum energy efficiency, the Intel Celeron N4500 is sufficient. For noticeably smoother everyday operation and better multitasking capabilities, the Intel Processor N100 is the superior choice.
