Intel Celeron N3060 vs Intel Processor N100

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron N3060, introduced in the first quarter of 2016, was designed for basic computing applications in entry-level notebooks and mini-PCs.

It is based on the Braswell architecture, manufactured on a 14 nm process, with 2 cores and 2 threads, and 2 MB of Level 3 Cache. Its integrated Intel HD Graphics 400 and maximum memory bandwidth of 26 GB/s are suited for very simple tasks like web browsing and word processing. The Intel Processor N100, introduced in the first quarter of 2023, targets the modern entry-level segment for compact and energy-efficient systems.

It is based on the Alder Lake N architecture, manufactured on a 10 nm process, and offers 4 cores and 4 threads. This processor features 4 MB of Level 2 Cache, 6 MB of Level 3 Cache, and a significantly more powerful Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake), supported by 38 GB/s maximum memory bandwidth.

Performance Comparison: The Intel Processor N100 significantly outperforms the Intel Celeron N3060 in single-core and multi-core applications, thanks to its newer architecture and higher core count. Neither is designed for gaming; however, the Intel Processor N100 offers a better experience in very simple titles due to its more modern graphics unit.

Both are designed for low power consumption, typically with a similar TDP of about 6W. In this regard, the Intel Processor N100 delivers substantially higher performance per watt. As a more modern processor, the Intel Processor N100 offers superior value for money and is the better choice for new devices.
