Intel Celeron N2840 vs Intel Processor N150

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron N2840 (Bay Trail, 22 nm) is an older processor for basic tasks in low-cost systems. It has a lower core count and features 0 MB L2 cache and 1 MB L3 cache.

The more modern Intel Processor N150 (Twin Lake, 7 nm) offers a higher core count as well as 4 MB L2 and 6 MB L3 cache for improved performance in the entry-level segment.

In single-core and multi-core performance, the Intel Processor N150 significantly outperforms the Intel Celeron N2840, leading to a more responsive experience for everyday tasks. Both are limited for gaming. However, with its Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) and 38 GB/s maximum memory bandwidth, the Intel Processor N150 offers improved graphics performance for media and very simple games compared to the Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail GT1) of the Intel Celeron N2840 with 21 GB/s.

Thanks to its 7 nm manufacturing, the Intel Processor N150 is significantly more energy-efficient than the 22 nm Intel Celeron N2840, which favors lower heat generation and fanless systems. While the Intel Celeron N2840 can be found in very affordable older devices, the Intel Processor N150 offers a significantly better price-performance ratio for current requirements due to its greatly improved user experience.

The Intel Celeron N2840 is suitable for extremely simple tasks in budget-friendly older devices. The Intel Processor N150 is the better choice for modern entry-level systems with superior overall performance and improved graphics for a more responsive computing experience.
