Intel Celeron J3455 vs Intel Celeron J4025

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron J3455, based on the Apollo Lake architecture, and the Intel Celeron J4025, based on the Gemini Lake architecture, are energy-efficient desktop processors from Intel, manufactured using the 14 nm process.

They are aimed at users of mini-PCs, thin clients, or home theater PCs who need basic computing tasks and media playback. The Intel Celeron J3455 features four cores and four threads with 2 MB L3 cache and Intel HD Graphics 500. The Intel Celeron J4025 offers two cores and two threads, a 4 MB L3 cache, and Intel UHD Graphics 600.

In terms of computing performance, the Intel Celeron J4025 shows significantly higher single-core performance, while the Intel Celeron J3455 achieves noticeably better performance in multi-core applications thanks to its four cores. For gaming, both processors are only suitable to a very limited extent.

The Intel UHD Graphics 600 integrated into the J4025 is graphically slightly superior to the Intel HD Graphics 500 of the J3455 and benefits from a higher memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s compared to 30 GB/s. Both CPUs are known for their low power consumption and are ideal for systems designed for energy efficiency and passive cooling.

Their price-performance ratio is good for basic tasks, as they are usually built into cost-effective complete systems. The Intel Celeron J3455 is better suited for light multitasking scenarios that benefit from more cores. The Intel Celeron J4025 is the better choice for tasks requiring higher single-core performance and offers a marginally improved graphics unit.

For basic computing applications, both processors provide a solid foundation.
