AMD Ryzen 5 5600U vs Intel Processor N100

Last updated:
The AMD Ryzen 5 5600U is a mobile processor from AMD, based on the Cezanne architecture (Zen 3), manufactured using the 7 nm process.

It is designed for mainstream laptops and offers balanced performance for a variety of applications. With 6 cores and 12 threads, a 3 MB L2 cache, and a 16 MB L3 cache, it is equipped for multitasking and more demanding tasks. Its single-core performance is significantly higher than that of the Intel Processor N100, which results in superior responsiveness in everyday tasks.

The multi-core performance also significantly surpasses the comparison processor, making it better suited for more complex workloads. The integrated AMD Radeon RX Vega 7 (Renoir) graphics unit also enables light gaming and smoother media playback with a typical TDP of 15W. The Intel Processor N100 is an energy-efficient processor from Intel, based on the Alder Lake N architecture, manufactured using the 10 nm process.

It targets entry-level devices, mini-PCs, and fanless systems where maximum energy efficiency and low cost are paramount. Equipped with 4 cores and 4 threads, a 4 MB L2 cache, and a 6 MB L3 cache, it focuses on basic computing tasks. Both its single-core and multi-core performance are below that of the AMD Ryzen 5 5600U.

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) graphics unit is sufficient for media playback and very simple applications. Its very low TDP makes it ideal for continuous operation and systems with passive cooling.
