AMD A4-5100 vs Intel Processor N100

Last updated:
The AMD A4-5100 is based on the Kabini architecture and was developed by AMD for budget-conscious entry-level systems and compact desktop computers.

It is manufactured using a 28-nanometer process, and the processor features four computing cores. In terms of computing power, this model lags significantly behind more modern solutions. The integrated AMD Radeon HD 8330 graphics offer only basic functions for image output and simple graphical interfaces, making them unsuitable for demanding games.

With a Thermal Design Power designed for simple cooling systems and a memory bandwidth of 26 GB/s, the system targets basic applications. A 2 MB Level 3 cache supports data processing, while no Level 2 cache is present. This model is primarily found in older legacy systems. The Intel Processor N100 uses the Alder Lake N architecture and is manufactured using a 10-nanometer process.

This processor is designed for efficient mini-PCs and quiet desktop environments. With four cores, it delivers solid performance in single-core and multi-core benchmarks, clearly outperforming its AMD competitor. The Intel UHD Graphics with 24 Execution Units enables playback of high-resolution media and handles simple games at reduced details.

Thanks to a memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s as well as a 4 MB Level 2 cache and a 6 MB Level 3 cache, the system offers reasonable responsiveness for internet applications and office work. The low Thermal Design Power often allows for silent operation without active fans. The Intel Processor N100 thus represents a cost-effective solution for everyday computing tasks and is the recommendation for users who value efficiency.
