The Intel Core i7-3689Y was once a very capable processor for mobile devices. It was based on the Ivy Bridge Y architecture and manufactured using the then advanced 22-nanometer process. This chip offered a considerable balance of solid performance and high energy efficiency. This was particularly advantageous for slim notebooks and Ultrabooks, as it noticeably improved battery life.

The integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 handled everyday visual tasks and enabled smooth multimedia playback. It was also well suited for basic office applications. With 4 MB Level 3 Cache, the processor ensured fast access to frequently used data. Its maximum memory bandwidth reached 21 GB per second, which was considered solid for the time.

Even today, the Intel Core i7-3689Y demonstrates its capabilities for simple internet use and light word processing. We note that its former focus on energy efficiency still makes it a reliable choice. It is well suited for less demanding computer work.
