The
Intel Atom N475, based on the
Pineview architecture, was a key component for mobile devices of that era. Manufactured using the 45 nm process, this processor was particularly distinguished by its high energy efficiency. It enabled manufacturers to develop very compact and fanless systems; that was a big advantage.
The integrated Intel GMA 3150 graphics unit provided sufficient visual performance for basic applications. These included tasks such as surfing the internet, writing emails, or playing videos. We often saw it in netbooks back then, where it supported long battery life. The low heat generation was also remarkable, ideal for on the go.
Despite its modest 1 MB L2 cache, it reliably handled its tasks. Its design focused on light tasks, where mobility and low power consumption were paramount. As a specialist for mobile use, it contributed significantly to the spread of small, affordable laptops. It was a clear representative of its generation.
