AMD Phenom II X2 555
Benchmarks & Specs

Last updated:
The AMD Phenom II X2 555 is an interesting processor from an earlier generation. It is based on the proven Callisto (K10) architecture. It was manufactured using a 45 nm process, which was a good standard at the time. Particularly noteworthy is its potential for enthusiasts. With a bit of luck and the right motherboard, this dual-core processor could often be unlocked to a quad-core.

This offered a significant increase in performance without additional costs. In addition, the AMD Phenom II X2 555 features a generous 6 MB Level 3 cache. This cache noticeably improved data processing. The memory bandwidth of 21 GB/s was also sufficient for many applications. For simple everyday tasks or older games, the AMD Phenom II X2 555 still offers a surprisingly solid base today.

We see it as an example of clever design and good value from that time.
