Comparison of the two processors

In this text I will describe where the two processors from this comparison are identical and where there are differences. Let's start with the release and architecture, both the Intel Processor N95 and Intel Processor N100 were released in the first quarter of 2023 and are based on the Alder Lake N architecture. These are processors from the mobile area of Intel's processor program, which are manufactured in a monolithic chip design with a structure width of 10 nanometers.

The two processors each have 4 processor cores that do not support hyperthreading, but the clock frequency is slightly different. The Intel Processor N95 has a slightly higher base clock frequency of 2.00 gigahertz; this is slightly lower for the Intel Processor N100 at 1.80 gigahertz. The maximum turbo clock frequency is identical at 3.40 gigahertz, but the Intel Processor N95 still reaches 3.20 gigahertz when all cores are utilized, whereas the Intel Processor N100 is already at 3.00 gigahertz.

Both processors are equipped with an internal graphics unit, but these are not identical. The Intel UHD Graphics Alder Lake with 16 versions is used in the Intel Processor N95. This graphics unit clocks at 1.20 gigahertz and achieves an FP32 computing performance (single precision) of 307 gigaFLOPS. At first glance, the Intel Processor N100, on the other hand, has a stronger iGPU with the Intel UHD Graphics Alder Lake and 24 execution units, but the maximum clock rate is only 0.75 gigahertz, which means that this graphics unit has a slightly lower FP32 computing power of 288 gigaFLOPS reached.

When it comes to RAM, both processors only have one memory channel, which can be used to operate with up to 16 gigabytes of RAM. There are no differences here.

The biggest difference can be found in the power consumption: The Intel Processor N95 has a fixed TDP of 15W, while the Intel Processor N100 has 2 power limits, the first is 6W and the second is 25 watts.
