Intel Processor N100 vs Intel Pentium G4400

Last updated:
The Intel Pentium G4400 was introduced in the third quarter of 2015 based on the Skylake-S architecture and was aimed at users for basic desktop tasks.

It was manufactured using the 14 nm process and features 2 cores and 2 threads, 3 MB Level 3 cache, and PCIe 3.0. Its integrated Intel HD Graphics 510 is designed for very simple graphical requirements, with a maximum memory bandwidth of 34 GB/s. In single-core applications, it showed performance that is significantly surpassed by the Intel Processor N100.

As a desktop processor, it exhibits typical power consumption. It is now only relevant as a very affordable used option. The Intel Processor N100, introduced in the first quarter of 2023 with Alder Lake-N architecture and manufactured using the 10 nm process, is designed for energy-efficient systems such as mini-PCs.

It offers 4 cores and 4 threads, 4 MB Level 2 cache, 6 MB Level 3 cache, and PCIe 3.0. Its integrated Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) is more powerful than the G4400's graphics and enables better media playback and very light gaming. The maximum memory bandwidth is 38 GB/s. The N100 significantly outperforms the G4400 in single- and multi-core performance and is characterized by very low power consumption, which enables its use in fanless systems and offers a better price-performance ratio for modern applications.
