Intel Processor N100 vs Intel Core i3-10100Y

The Intel Core i3-10100Y is based on the Comet Lake S architecture and is manufactured using the 14 nm process.

Designed for energy-efficient desktops, it features 4 MB of L3 cache, PCIe 3.0, and a maximum memory bandwidth of 30 GB/s. The integrated graphics unit is the Intel UHD Graphics 615. The Intel Processor N100 comes from the more modern Alder Lake N architecture and is manufactured using the more efficient 10 nm process.

Ideal for mini-PCs, it offers 4 MB of L2 cache, 6 MB of L3 cache, PCIe 3.0, and a maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s. Its internal graphics unit is the Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake). In terms of performance, the Intel Processor N100 significantly outperforms the Intel Core i3-10100Y in the Cinebench R23 single-core and Geekbench 6 multi-core tests.

Single-core performance in Geekbench 6 and multi-core performance in Cinebench R23 are comparable. For gaming, both are only suitable for very undemanding titles, with the N100 having slight advantages thanks to its newer graphics unit. Thanks to its 10 nm process, the N100 is extremely power-efficient, while the 14 nm Core i3-10100Y is less energy-efficient.

The more modern N100 generally offers a better price-performance ratio. For office applications, web browsing, and media playback with a focus on energy efficiency, the Intel Processor N100 is the better choice.
