Intel Processor N100 vs AMD EPYC Embedded 3151

Last updated:
The Intel Processor N100 and the AMD EPYC Embedded 3151 are designed for different embedded and low-power application areas.

The Intel Processor N100, based on the 10 nm Alder Lake N architecture, is intended for energy-efficient, compact systems and IoT devices. It features 4 cores and 4 threads and offers solid single-core performance. Its integrated Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) enables basic graphical output and very light gaming, which makes it ideal for thin clients or media players.

With 4 MB L2 and 6 MB L3 cache, as well as a maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s, it is optimized for efficiency. The N100 is characterized by extremely low power consumption and is attractively priced for its performance class. It supports PCIe 3.0. The AMD EPYC Embedded 3151 is based on the 14 nm Snowy Owl (Zen) architecture and is designed for demanding professional embedded systems and server applications.

With 4 cores and 8 threads, it offers robust multi-core performance for parallel workloads and reliable single-core performance. It has 2 MB L2 and 16 MB L3 cache, indicating its ability to handle complex data, and achieves a maximum memory bandwidth of 43 GB/s. The EPYC Embedded 3151 has no integrated graphics unit and requires a dedicated GPU for video output.

Its power consumption is optimized for continuous operation under load and is higher than that of the N100. Its price-performance ratio is defined by its reliability and long-term availability for industrial applications. It also supports PCIe 3.0.
