Intel Pentium Silver N5000 vs Intel Processor N100

Last updated:
The Intel Pentium Silver N5000, based on the Gemini Lake architecture, was designed as an energy-efficient processor for entry-level devices.

It is manufactured using a 14nm process and features four cores and four threads. With 4 MB of Level 3 Cache and no Level 2 Cache, it is suited for basic computing tasks. Its integrated Intel UHD Graphics 605 and a maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s enable simple visual representations. In benchmarks, it shows basic single- and multi-core performance, sufficient for web browsing and word processing.

Its very low Thermal Design Power (TDP) makes it ideal for fanless systems. It is a very cost-effective option for users with minimal performance requirements. The Intel Processor N100 is a more modern processor based on the Alder Lake N architecture, aiming for improved performance and efficiency.

Manufactured using the more advanced 10nm process, it also offers four cores and four threads, but with 4 MB of Level 2 Cache and 6 MB of Level 3 Cache, contributing to performance enhancement. Its integrated Intel UHD Graphics with 24 EUs (Alder Lake) delivers noticeably better graphics performance than the Intel Pentium Silver N5000.

In benchmarks, it significantly outperforms the Intel Pentium Silver N5000 in single- and multi-core tasks. Despite the higher performance, it maintains a very low TDP, which also predestines it for energy-efficient and compact systems. It offers a better price-performance ratio for a smoother everyday experience.
