Intel Core i9-9900 vs Intel Processor N150

Last updated:
The Intel Core i9-9900 is based on the Coffee Lake S Refresh architecture and is manufactured using the 14-nanometer process.

This processor is aimed at users who require high computing power for demanding applications. It offers eight cores and sixteen threads and has a 16-megabyte level 3 cache. Connectivity is via PCIe 3.0 with a memory bandwidth of 43 GB/s. In benchmarks, the Intel Core i9-9900 delivers significantly higher multi-core performance than the comparison model, making it ideal for parallel processes.

It also maintains the upper hand in single-core performance. In gaming scenarios, the architecture ensures stable frame rates, although the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 is only designed for basic applications. The Thermal Design Power is designed for desktop operation with active cooling. The Intel Processor N150 comes from the Twin Lake generation and is produced using the modern 7-nanometer process.

This model is designed for use in compact, energy-efficient systems and offers four cores without hyperthreading. With a memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s and a combined cache of 10 megabytes, the focus is on efficiency rather than maximum raw performance. In synthetic tests, the Intel Processor N150 achieves lower multi-core and single-core performance compared to the Intel Core i9-9900.

For games, this processor is less suitable, as the Intel Graphics 32 EUs (Alder Lake) is primarily optimized for video playback and simple graphics tasks. Its greatest advantage lies in its minimal energy consumption, which enables operation in fanless cases. Priced as an entry-level solution, it provides a solid basis for everyday office work.
