Equipped with PCIe 3.0 and Intel UHD Graphics 630, it offers solid performance for everyday tasks and older games. Its single- and multi-core performance is surpassed by newer generations. The TDP is 65W. Pricewise, it is primarily still interesting as used goods or for budget upgrades of older platforms.

The Intel Core i5-14400F, released in early 2024, belongs to the Raptor Lake S Refresh family and is manufactured using the more efficient 10 nm (Intel 7) process.

It features a hybrid design with 6 performance and 4 efficient cores, resulting in 16 threads. With 10 MB of Level 2 and 20 MB of Level 3 cache, as well as a memory bandwidth of 90 GB/s, its single- and multi-core performance is significantly superior. It supports PCIe 5.0, which benefits modern graphics cards and makes it ideal for gaming and demanding applications.

Its TDP is also 65W, although the maximum turbo power is higher. It offers excellent value for money for current systems. Recommendation: For modern performance requirements, gaming, and content creation, the Intel Core i5-14400F is clearly the better choice. The Intel Core i7-9700 can still serve in older systems for basic tasks or as a cost-effective upgrade but is no longer competitive in terms of performance.
