Intel Core i7-7567U vs Intel Processor N100

Last updated:
The Intel Core i7-7567U, a processor of the Kaby Lake U architecture, was introduced by Intel in the first quarter of 2017.

This chip was manufactured using the 14 nm process and was primarily designed for slim and energy-efficient mobile devices that should offer balanced performance for everyday tasks and media consumption. It features 2 cores and 4 threads, as well as 4 MB of Level 3 Cache. Its maximum memory bandwidth is 34 GB/s.

The integrated Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 offered solid performance at the time for basic graphical tasks and very simple games. In performance tests, it shows comparable single-core performance in Geekbench 6 and higher multi-core performance in Cinebench R23 compared to the Intel Processor N100.

It is primarily relevant in the used market and is suitable as a cost-effective replacement solution in older notebooks. The Intel Processor N100 belongs to the modern Alder Lake N architecture and was released in the first quarter of 2023. This processor is manufactured using the more advanced 10 nm process (equivalent to Intel 7), which enables high energy efficiency.

It is specifically designed for entry-level systems, mini-PCs, and thin clients, where low power consumption and solid performance for basic computing requirements are paramount. The N100 has 4 cores and 4 threads (efficiency cores), 4 MB of Level 2 Cache and 6 MB of Level 3 Cache, as well as a maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s.

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) is intended for basic graphical output but not for demanding gaming. It surpasses the Intel Core i7-7567U in single-core performance in Cinebench R23 and multi-core performance in Geekbench 6 and is significantly more energy-efficient.

Its price-performance ratio is very good for new basic systems. For office applications, web browsing, and media playback in a new, energy-efficient system, it is the better choice.
