The Intel Core i7-1255U, based on the Alder Lake U-architecture, was introduced in early 2022.

It targets thin Windows laptops and offers efficient performance for productivity and light creative tasks. Manufactured using the 10 nm process, it utilizes a hybrid architecture with two P-cores and eight E-cores (ten cores, twelve threads), supported by 7 MB L2 and 12 MB L3 cache. In multicore benchmarks, it shows stronger performance than the Apple A15 Bionic.

The integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics 96 with 83 GB/s memory bandwidth enables light gaming. As a U-series processor, it is designed for energy efficiency (typ. 15 Watt TDP) and offers good value for money in its market segment. The Apple A15 Bionic (4-GPU) was introduced in late 2021 and is a 5 nm System-on-a-Chip (SoC) for Apple's mobile devices (iPhones, iPads).

It delivers high computing and graphics performance in an energy-efficient package. The 6-core CPU (two P-cores, four E-cores) offers six threads, complemented by 16 MB L2 and 32 MB L3 cache. In single-core benchmarks, the Apple A15 Bionic demonstrates significantly superior performance. Its four GPU cores provide excellent graphics performance for mobile gaming within the Apple ecosystem, with 34 GB/s memory bandwidth.

Known for extremely low power consumption, its TDP is significantly lower than that of the Intel processor. It is exclusively built into Apple devices in the premium segment.
