Intel Core i5-7400T vs Intel Processor N95

The Intel Core i5-7400T (Kaby Lake S, 2017) is a 14 nm processor with 4 cores, 4 threads, 6 MB Level 3 cache and Intel HD Graphics 630, optimized for energy-efficient desktops.

The newer Intel Processor N95 (Alder Lake N, 2023) is manufactured using a 10 nm process, also has 4 cores, 4 threads (Gracemont), 4 MB Level 2 cache, 6 MB Level 3 cache and Intel UHD Graphics (16 EUs), designed for efficient mini-PCs.

Both offer 38 GB/s maximum memory bandwidth and support PCIe 3.0. In benchmarks, both processors show similar single-core and multi-core performance. Their integrated graphics units are only suitable for simple tasks; a dedicated graphics card is essential for modern games. The Intel Processor N95 tends to be more energy-efficient than the Intel Core i5-7400T, thanks to its more modern 10 nm manufacturing process and the efficient Alder Lake N architecture.

The Intel Core i5-7400T is an older, primarily used model. The Intel Processor N95 is more current, often integrated into new, affordable mini-PCs, and offers a better price/performance ratio. For existing systems and basic tasks, the Intel Core i5-7400T is an option.
