The Intel Core i5-3570K was launched in the second quarter of 2012 and was a desktop processor for the mainstream market and enthusiasts with overclocking potential.

The Intel Processor N150, on the other hand, was introduced in the first quarter of 2023 and is a modern, energy-efficient chip for entry-level devices such as mini-PCs and thin clients.

The Intel Core i5-3570K is based on the 22 nm Ivy Bridge S architecture and features 4 cores and 4 threads. The Intel Processor N150 uses the 7 nm Twin Lake architecture and also offers 4 cores and 4 threads, but benefits from significantly more efficient manufacturing.

Thanks to its newer architecture and higher per-clock performance, the Intel Processor N150 significantly outperforms the Intel Core i5-3570K in single-core and multi-core workloads. The older Intel Core i5-3570K delivered solid performance for everyday tasks in its time. Neither processor is primarily suitable for demanding gaming.

However, the Intel Core i5-3570K with Intel HD Graphics 4000 can still handle older games when combined with a dedicated graphics card. The Intel Processor N150 with Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) offers slightly better integrated graphics performance and higher memory bandwidth for very light games.

Due to its modern 7 nm process and energy-efficient architecture, the Intel Processor N150 has significantly lower power consumption. The 22 nm Intel Core i5-3570K has a considerably higher energy requirement and thus greater cooling demands. The Intel Core i5-3570K is a discontinued product and is only available at low prices on the used market.

The Intel Processor N150 is typically integrated into new, energy-efficient systems, offering good value for money for its target group. In summary, the Intel Core i5-3570K is still suitable for basic desktop tasks and older games when combined with a separate graphics card. The Intel Processor N150 is the better choice for modern, energy-efficient, and quiet systems, ideal for office work, web browsing, and media playback.
