The Intel Core i5-7500 is a desktop processor based on the Kaby Lake S architecture, launched in the first quarter of 2017.

It targets users in the mid-range segment who are looking for a solid foundation for everyday tasks, productivity, and gaming. Manufactured using a 14nm process, this processor features four physical cores and four threads. It offers generally improved single-core performance and significantly higher multi-core performance compared to the Intel Core i3-7100, making it more suitable for multi-tasking and demanding applications.

Especially in games that benefit from more than two cores, the Intel Core i5-7500 shows better performance. With 6 MB of Level 3 Cache and a maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s, it is well equipped. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 630 enables basic graphics output; however, a dedicated graphics card is recommended for an optimal gaming experience.

Its TDP is 65 watts, which requires moderate cooling. The Intel Core i3-7100, also based on the Kaby Lake S architecture and introduced in the first quarter of 2017, targets the entry-level segment. It is ideally suited for basic computer work, office applications, and as the heart of a media PC.

This processor, manufactured using a 14nm process, offers two physical cores and four threads through Hyper-Threading. Its single-core performance is comparable to that of the Intel Core i5-7500 in some applications, but its multi-core performance is noticeably lower. With 3 MB of Level 3 Cache and a maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s, it is designed for less computationally intensive tasks.

The integrated Intel HD Graphics 630 offers similar graphics performance for simple visual applications and basic gaming. Its lower TDP of 51 watts makes it more energy-efficient and easier to cool.
