It is primarily aimed at users performing everyday office work or using the internet. Manufactured using the 14-nanometer process, the processor has two cores and four threads. Technical features include a 3 MB L3 cache, support for PCIe 3.0, and integrated Intel HD Graphics 630. In single-core performance, the model delivers solid results, while multi-core performance remains limited due to the two-core restriction.

In gaming scenarios, the Intel Core i3-7100 achieves only basic results, as demanding titles often require more threads. The low thermal design power ensures low energy consumption and uncomplicated cooling in compact cases. The Intel Core i5-10400 originates from the Comet Lake S generation and is intended for the mid-range as well as for gaming enthusiasts.

This processor is also manufactured using the 14-nanometer process but offers a much higher capacity for parallel tasks with six cores and twelve threads. With a larger 12 MB L3 cache, PCIe 3.0 support, and a memory bandwidth of 43 GB/s, it handles complex applications more efficiently. In benchmarks for single-core and multi-core performance, the Intel Core i5-10400 stands out significantly.

Especially in computationally intensive games, the architecture enables more stable frame rates and better load distribution. Despite the increased processing power, the thermal design power remains within an efficient range. The price-performance ratio is advantageously designed for users looking for future reserves.
