The Intel Core i3-7100 uses the Kaby Lake S architecture and was developed for conventional desktop computers.

Multi-core performance is also weaker due to the lower core count. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 630 provides only basic functions for image output and is very limited for gaming.

Power consumption is specified for a desktop model of this class, with thermal efficiency lagging behind processes with smaller feature sizes.

The Intel Core i3-N305 is based on the Alder Lake N architecture and is manufactured using the more efficient 10-nanometer process.

It offers eight cores, leading to a significant advantage in multi-core performance. This processor also performs better in single-core performance in certain scenarios than the established desktop model. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 13th Gen with 32 execution units delivers increased graphical performance but remains an entry-level product for simple games.

The thermal design power is geared toward high energy efficiency, making it recommended for quiet, compact systems. With 8 MB of L2 cache and 6 MB of L3 cache, the data buffering is advantageously structured. It is the suitable choice for users who need high efficiency and increased computing capacity at low power consumption.
