Intel Core i3-5010U vs Intel Processor N150

Last updated:
The Intel Core i3-5010U, based on the older Broadwell U-architecture, is a mobile processor manufactured using the 14 nm process.

It features 2 cores and 4 threads with a 3 MB Level 3 cache and is designed for basic tasks in laptops. Its integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 and a maximum memory bandwidth of 26 GB/s offer basic graphics capability for video playback and very simple, older games. In synthetic benchmarks, it shows solid single-core performance for its generation.

With a typical Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 15W, it is common for mobile use. This processor is primarily found in used devices today and offers a corresponding price-performance ratio for users with very low performance requirements. The Intel Processor N150, with the Twin Lake architecture, is a significantly newer and more efficient processor, manufactured using the more advanced 7 nm process.

It has 4 cores and 4 threads, 4 MB Level 2 cache and 6 MB Level 3 cache, which enables improved multitasking capability. In performance tests, the Intel Processor N150 significantly outperforms the Intel Core i3-5010U in both single-core and multi-core performance, offering better responsiveness.

Its Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) and a maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s deliver superior graphics performance for media consumption and light casual games. With a low TDP of 6W, it is ideal for energy-efficient and fanless systems. It offers a better price-performance ratio in current entry-level devices.
