Intel Core i3-4130 vs Intel Celeron J4125

Last updated:
The Intel Core i3-4130 was designed as a mainstream desktop processor and is based on the Haswell S architecture.

Manufactured using the 22-nanometer process, this unit features two cores and four threads. In technical benchmarks, the processor shows higher single-core and multi-core performance compared to the competing model. In gaming scenarios, the Intel Core i3-4130 achieves better results as its computing power and Intel HD Graphics 4400 are more advantageous for simple calculations.

With a Thermal Design Power of 54 watts, the power consumption is moderate for a desktop model. PCIe 3.0 support and a Level 3 cache of 3 MB round out the profile. On the market, it offers a solid price-performance ratio for office tasks. It is primarily suitable for users who need solid computing power for everyday applications.

The Intel Celeron J4125 is a processor of the Gemini Lake generation, developed for energy-saving Mini-PCs and small systems.

It is manufactured using the 14-nanometer process and offers four physical cores with four threads. Despite the higher number of cores, the computing power lags behind the comparison model in standard testing procedures for both single-core and multi-core loads. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 600 is optimized for media playback, but does not achieve high frame rates in games.

An advantage is the low Thermal Design Power of only 10 watts, which often enables silent operation. The maximum memory bandwidth is 38 GB/s, while PCIe 2.0 is supported. This processor is a good choice for efficient systems or home servers where low energy consumption is more important than pure speed.
