The Intel Core i3-10100 is a 10th generation desktop processor codenamed Comet Lake S, released in 2020, aimed at users who need solid performance for everyday applications.

It is manufactured using the 14 nm process and features 4 cores and 8 threads thanks to Hyper-Threading. With 6 MB of Level 3 Cache, PCIe 3.0 support, integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630, and a maximum memory bandwidth of 43 GB/s, it provides a good foundation for office and media tasks. Compared to the Intel Processor N100, the Intel Core i3-10100 shows significantly higher single-core and multi-core performance, making it better suited for multitasking and more complex software.

Its higher TDP requires more active cooling. The Intel Processor N100 is based on the newer Alder Lake N architecture and is a processor released in 2023 for energy-efficient entry-level systems, mini-PCs, and embedded solutions. It is manufactured using the more modern 10 nm process and has 4 cores and 4 threads designed for maximum energy efficiency.

Equipped with 4 MB Level 2 and 6 MB Level 3 Cache, PCIe 3.0, and Intel UHD Graphics with 24 Execution Units (Alder Lake), it achieves a maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s. Its main strength lies in extremely low power consumption and the associated low heat generation, which often allows for passive operation.

Although its computing power is lower than that of the Intel Core i3-10100, it is the better choice for applications where energy efficiency and low operating costs are a priority.
